Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social responsibility is our commitment and responsibility to our backbone, our workforce. At Sangameshwar Coffee Estates Ltd, Mrs. Hamsini Appadurai, Director Marketing directly oversees the structures for corporate social responsibility.

We have tried to highlight a few of our contributions towards  enhancing the lives of our workforce:

Surrounded by three hills, Karadykan estate has a hospital ‘ Lakshmi ‘ founded in 1980 with 20 beds available 24X7. Our employees and other workers can avail the privilege to visit the facility with regular ailments. All these medical services are facilitated by Sangameshwar Coffee Estates Ltd.

We are honoured  to provide day care facilities for all our estate workers. The children are within the premises enjoying the stimulating environment. It enables the parents to work with a good state of mind leading to holistic development. The centre also has a play area facilitated by Cuperus Coffee , Belgium.

We provide rent-free housing facilities for our employees and workers. There are 200 resident families in all our estates. We also extend this benefit to our temporary pickers during harvest season.

Apart from their accommodation, we also try to enhance  their nutritional requirements by distributing eggs on a weekly basis to keep their families healthy. Around 50 families are enjoying this privilege, and in totality around 300 eggs are distributed every week.

We are providing scholarships for girl children of  our workers/employees  every academic year. We contributed for 20 children and encourage them to grow and blossom into confident women .

Providing shelter to 120 cows, our in-house cattle provides milk for employees and workers at subsidized prices to improve nutrition.
